Dreams have wings !
William Wordsworth defined poetry as the "spontaneous outflow of powerful feelings" !! However, in my case, poetry was seemingly more like an outflow of a whole load of trash, especially when I have had a hard day at college, or after a dog chased me when I was on my way to the hair saloon.
So, poetry has been a way for me to 'let go', 'release my tensions', and feel less suffocated. Just like how you throw up when you eat something you hate, to me, poetry is something that comes out when I have had a really bad day.
This one came out on such an instance, when our Zoology lecturer caught me for the 100th time laughing, and I continued laughing even though she was bombarding me with expletives, leading to a whole lot of complications. Its a letter of love, and disappointments, written by a boy, reflecting his life. No, no, not me, its got nothing to do with me ... I belong to one of those clans who believe "Jaane kyun log pyaar karte hain" !! I wrote this on 'Children's Day', probably an inappropriate time to be writing such things ... anyway here it is.
So you thought this is a letter of 'Love',
but life has become a lot different now.
You will now hear the story of a little boy's life,
who at such a young age wants a wife !
Studying was all that he did,
he was a very good boy since he was a kid.
And then at college he saw the lovely girls,
they were cute and smart, hairs in curls !
A girl at college had a crush on this guy,
and he thought she was like 'Aishwarya Rai' !
He began dreaming of engagements and wedding rings,
of course, dreams do have wings !
The girl was more to him than his life,
in a few days they would become husband and wife.
They say all good things come to an end,
the boy comes to know that she has yet another boy-friend.
The girl suddenly loses interest in her would-be,
in the way she acts, you can see.
Off-late by everybody it is spoken,
that the proposed engagement would be broken.
There are many more fish in the sea,
and in course of time you will see.
He shall indeed be seeing engagements and wedding rings
Because dreams do have wings !
